Pairlynx exists to answer one question properly: of the paid dating platforms available, which one is worth your money and your six months?
Why this site
Paid dating platforms are unusually hard to compare. Pricing is quoted as a monthly average on plans that are not monthly. Promotions change the number you see depending on when you arrive. Features are bundled on one platform and sold separately on another. And the category is full of review sites that read like brochures.
We compare a deliberately small number of platforms in real depth rather than listing twenty. Four is enough to cover the decision most people are actually making, and it means every page here can be kept current.
What we care about
- The total, not the headline. A "$19 a month" plan that must be bought twelve months at a time is a $228 decision, and it should be presented as one.
- Renewal behaviour. Most complaints against these platforms are billing complaints. We flag the mechanism on every platform that has one.
- Whether the company will still be there. EliteSingles closed in April 2026 with two days' notice and deleted everything. That changed what a long prepaid subscription means, and we now weight company stability accordingly.
- Saying who a platform is wrong for. Every review here has a section on who should not sign up. A recommendation that fits everyone fits nobody.

No platform pays for its ranking or its score, and our rating method is published in full, including the parts of it that are desk research rather than first-hand experience.
We think that arrangement is fine as long as it is stated plainly and the incentives do not bend the writing. You can judge whether we have managed that: our top-rated platform is also the one we write the longest warnings about.
